Crooked Timber: Rorty vs Soames
Yo, 20 th century people, read
this. In order to follow it, you may need to read Rorty's original
book review. If you're really daring, you may want to take a look at Scott Soames reply, there's a link on the Crooked Timber page. Rorty became famous for writing a books that compared and contrasted philosophers including John Dewey, Martin Heidegger and W.V.O. Quine. When he did this, it was considered quite controversial.
By the time you get reading this material, I'll probably have comments working again and my campaign to make this blog look like the jump suite of a NASCAR driver will have advanced.
We'll definitely discuss the content of these essays when we get to Quine, that is after break.

Free Software Magazine - The FUD-based Encyclopedia
For those who have suspicions about my referring people to wikipedia for background/research purposes, there's an interesting article in
Free Software Magazine.
That said, the Heidegger entry is stilled wacked and I'm not about to go and try to fix it, because, when it comes right down to it, I'm
the sort of person who's not suppossed to be spending much time thinking about Heidegger at all.
